The Rose I Won'T Forget

The sun will rise and the sun will set As a watch your fiery silhouette Of memories I cannot forget Linger on with pain and with regret That I could never ever find A way to ease a worried mind Twisted through the rings of time The distance your heart beat and mine I still see in your fiery eyes In every sunset and each sunrise Rain washes away our broken skies Like petals falling off a rose as it dies Of all the dreams I won’t forget The sunrise will now forever set Upon the rose I could not ever get As I sleep beneath your fiery silhouette The colors with the moon tonight All have turned into black and white As all my memories sleep tonight Underneath your silhouette in the starry night

Ahhh yes, I remember two roses I wanted so badly but was just not to be! Fate has a say in our affairs and often we dearly hate what fate says. Great poem but for me it reminded me of two pretty ladies I knew decades apart but each was a beautiful rose! Solid 7 on this one and a pleasure to read this morn!

I think we all have those special roses in our lives we had to let go of, thank you Robert

Such a sad poem of regret... memories that remain will sustain you. Marvelous phrasing, rhyme and imagery. Well done Cynthia! Best wishes, Keith

without the two together poetry would be very different
