The road to hope
The road to Hope is a long one,
The road to Hope is a dusty one.
The road to hope makes one hungry,
The road to hope makes one thirsty.
Best for one to look for the roadside inn,
That sells compassion by the ounce,
And kindness by the cup.
.
Best not to linger at those stops,
That sell flesh by the pound,
And Dutch courage by the gallon,
Or false hope in a package tied up with a ribbon,
Or crocodile tears in a flask.
The road to hope is a long one,
But the only one that will restore your faith,
And show you the path to true happiness.
