The Rio Games Premiere Contest Winner

The Olympic games are ending soon, Oh, what a show it's been, With athletes losing gracefully And gracious when they win. Bringing honor to their countries, Their families and their sports. Behind the scenes they mingle And listen to reports. USA gymnasts are a wonder, They have gobbled up the gold. The tales of these fearless athletes Will be told and retold. If only nations followed The examples of their youth, Problems would be solved without a war. We'd be winners in all truth. Before next games in 2020 May the world find a lasting peace And leaders who've learned lessons And formed friendships such as these.

A beautiful write, Ms Johnson. If only your words could reach the right ears. I was watching the news this morning in Houston and they were already talking about how Simmone should go About "cashing in" on her gold medals. It's a shame we can't ever let beauty shine for the sake of shining bright.

Reasoned thinking, Joyce on the Olympians who spend their waking hours on developing their skills. You have us wondering if our nation's leaders had such dedication, what our country could become. Congrats on your top win.

They were great games to watch. Very well written! The people of nations do not cause conflict, but power hungry politicians are at the route of evil. Many start off well intended, but sell their souls little by little, till they are all lies.

I so agree...it was nice when the two runners who collided helped each other finish the race even though they knew they weren't going to win the race. They are the real winners in my book.
