The Raven's Way

Among the dead contest Joe Incatasciato Her Heart is black with malice. Her beauty cloaks her greed With their blood she fills her chalice and consumes them while they bleed To love she is a stranger Her motive's building wealth The naive can't sense the danger and are soon in declining health She has been adored by many and each one she's left to rot For remorse, she hasn't any As she gazes on their plots It's said she's followed by a flock Of all her murdered shills They follow not to end her stalk but because they love her still Use caution. when in love you fall Take care, or become her prey For she cannot feel love at all Beware, The Raven's way

I had only read a couple of the poems and wanted so badly to enter but...too many things were going on and didn't get to. I knew Constance would have a time selecting her winners. There is a long list of winners here. Joe you should be so proud of your winning poem congratulations. Love, Carol

Hi Joe! The ravens can send shivers down one's spine. They look so ominous, like they're planning something wicked. This has the feel of a fable...one should keep out of its path, for sure. Best wishes to you, Love, Mikki
