The Pub

Weak audible creaks from a faded pub sign Preludes a visual crash, combed by critical eyes Though the structure was sound The worn brackets were faint Flaking words curled and dropped With the tired peeling paint.

I was in that pub, even I do not remember the same colors, smell or sounds. Actually I was blind, after the terrorist explosion, but I came back to meet you . I remember the scent of exotic flowers, your poetical perfume.

Great imagery brings the experience to life, and we can see what you see through the eyes of a poet. Wonderful work with great thought given to the subject mater as it is gently unfolded for the readers consideration. Emile.

Mikki, Thanks for taking an interest in my Rudolph poem!! Rudolph was and still is a childhood favorite of mine (as well as Frosty the Snowman). I haven't seen Rudolph animation you mention with Burl Ives' narration, but I am fully aware of Ives' many ballads and songs (to include Christmas songs). This was a very special part of him as an entertainer separated from his other well-known persona as stage and film actor. Merry Christmas to you Mikki and I will be one of your readers!! Best, Gary

Mikki, I thought I might drop by in the wee hours of the morning here in Germany to take a quick peek at some more of your fine poetry. (I believe I commented earlier on your Pub II poem.) What imagery you've used here with this couplet!! I really like this notion and image of the Victorian Pub. Best Holiday Wishes, Gary (And a "7" from me too!!)

Thank you, Gary! In reality I had been amazed with your Rudolf poem. Maybe I had been trying to make myself feel better, I always found that to be a touching animation. In fact, I'd cried each time I'd watched it.:( Burl Ives had done the narration for both of these animations.
