The Joy of Family Holidays
Ah here it is again woven baskets filled with chocolate bunnies
Jelly beans of assorted colors and a soft stuffed rabbit
Time to gather around a well-set table for a feast
Joyful smiles and well-dressed family members joined together
Then there’s the real truth ~~~~~~
Well your brother and his annoying wife and kids are late
The ham you have in the oven won’t be ready on time
Grandmother is complaining about being cold
Grandfather keeps moving his artificial teeth around his mouth
Your sister comes over with an unannounced guest that's drunk
Then there the brothers that’s always on time with the worst behaved kids
There they are running all over the house with twisted shirts and bow ties
They got the cat up and are tormenting the heck out of her
Finally time to eat dinner oh this and that pass the peas
“Where’s the wine” heckling out from your sister's drunk guest
Spilled messes from the kids on your favorite tablecloth
“Oh don’t worry it will come out sure your thinking under your breathe, brats “
Oh the moments turn to 10 grueling hours from hell but we keep our smile pasted on
As you speed up the desert and count while they sending out their goodbye kisses
One by one and there waiting for you a kitchen from hell and two tired feet
Oh the joys of family gatherings it almost makes you wish they were everyday don’t they?
