The Hidden Piece of My Heart
You tell me that I’m perfect,
That you’ll never break my heart;
And though I know it isn’t worth it,
I let my defenses fall part;
Now what is to protect me,
When you rip my heart in two;
Cause even though I resisted,
I fell in love with you;
I tried to keep my distance,
From the charm you use so well;
And I know if you ever leave me,
I’ll be trapped in my own hell;
I’m waiting for the ball to drop,
For you to open your eyes;
To realize I’m not the one,
And break off all our ties;
I have a tiny piece of my heart,
Locked away without a key;
Just in case you ever decide,
To stop loving me for me.
