The Girl You Get
Should I give you the girl that you want to see
The one that you want me to be
In the kitchen barefoot like you said
Makin’ you feel like a man in bed
You like my jeans and my messy hair
I have you tell you I don’t care
There’s some sides to me I don’t much show
But maybe that’s the girl you should know
She ain’t worried about style or look
She’s got more to do than clean or cook
She works for justice and for peace
She’s got two advanced degrees
She loves to travel and to roam
She volunteers at the senior home
She is fierce and she can fight
She will always do what’s right
She is human and she needs love too
So I guess for now you’ll do
Just remember one thing honey
Which girl you get’s up to me
Now baby don’t you look so hurt
How ‘bout you take off that shirt
‘Cause I’m going to keep you around I think
Now whyn’t you go fix me a drink
