My first foray into Blues Lyric writing; dedicated to the Archie Edwards Blues Heritage Foundation I go and play with on Saturdays. Meant to be a hard number. We'll see what comes of it.

That's The Blues Sing me some songs that'll break my heart Tell me some stories of love torn apart Break me down from my head to my shoes 'Cause Baby - That's the Blues. You said you'd love me 'til the day you died Should've known right then just how much you'd lied You made my heartbreak frontpage news 'Cause Baby - That's the Blues. You held my heart in chains to you, You know you never meant to be true You pushed my thumbs right into your screws "Cause Baby - That's the Blues. That's the Blues, Baby That's the Blues, Darlin' That's the night with the HooDoos callin' That's the night when I gave up hope That's the night when I looked for my rope. You said you love me it's a cryin' shame Got me caught up in your lyin' game You turned me 'round and kept me confused 'Cause Baby - That's the Blues. You fed me love poison on your tongue Took advantage just because I was young You took my heart and broke it right in two 'Cause Baby - That's the Blues. You said I was your only darlin' boy Now I know that I was just your toy You just deceived me and you always knew 'Cause Baby - That's the Blues. That's the Blues, Baby That's the Blues Darlin' That's the night when the Hoodoos are callin' That's the night when I gave up my hope That's the night I went lookin' for my rope... So sing me songs that'll break my heart Tell me those stories of love torn apart Break me down from my head to my shoes 'Cause Baby - That's the Blues.
