Sweet Lady, Why So Sad-
I came upon a huge mural hanging on a wall
the woman portrayed had such a sadness in her face
she reached out to my heart and s o u l for sympathy . . .
sweet lady, why so sad?
I wished I could talk to her for a moment
hold her hand and brush away all her deep sorrow
I know this kind of sadness, I h a v e it too . . .
was it your beloved's death?
oh, perhaps it is any beloved's deaths that haunt you
it could be the loss of a child, parent, friend
or maybe someone has said cruel w o r d s my sweet lady . . .
is it that my dear?
still your sad heart dear, and lift your head high
the world is full of mean people- I know this
they do not care who they h u r t with their words . . .
can you rise above sadness?
