Summers Heat

SUMMERS HEAT I feel the heat of Summers blazing sun Pushing aside the gentle touch of Spring I think of doing something just for fun The thought has crossed my mind to buy a ring It may seem to you the sun fried my brain But until you meet the lady I know You should make an effort just to refrain From going where you need not to go She captured my heart like the summer heat Life for me now will never be the same I will introduce her for you to meet And be my best man when she takes my name So, my friend beware of the Summer's heat There are others like her who are so sweet 5 June 2020 For the contest sponsored by John Hamilton

Thanks, Tim! You are absolutely right on that note. And, the fact is, I do like it. I appreciate your support, your confidence in me, but most of all, you deep friendship.

Don't worry about the NA, you can never figure it. Some poems I thought were sure winners go the NA and others I thought were duds placed well. As long as it makes you feel good is all that matters.

Hey, Tim! Yep, Summer is on the way. Here in Central Georgia, we have already experienced temp nearing 100. I stay inside mostly and only go outside on necessity. Thanks for the comment on my poem. It is supposed to be a complete 10 syllables per line, but you know that things differ. I will probably get NA but I like it the way it is.
