Summer Heat

In trance of night, my summer catches fire. An inner spark explodes into a blaze. We, two, collide as one star of desire, Then douse our skin in waves of passion’s glaze. Your silhouette caught midst my tongue and lips tastes like the salted swells of summer seas. Then, you un-shade your heart and fingertips as we align our glow in whispered pleas. You touch me once, and I flow into you, like ocean waters roll to meet the sands. Of lips, of breath, and soul, your warmth feels new, My orb alight, yields in your willing hands. Our summer heat will thaw the frosty fall. Without your touch, I may not live at all. Written for 5/31/20 John Hamilton's Summer Heat Sonnet Contest
