Subconscious Twilight
Subconscious Twilight
As I close my eyes I enter into a world, a consciousness of the unknown
Deep into the abyss of darkness, into my subconscious realm of my own
Mysterious shapes transform in my internal universe, within my minds eye
Breathing slows down, the rhythmic beat of my heart keeps within time
Tension within my muscles continue, the fight or flight response remains
Endeavoring to travel deeper within myself, reality holds onto the reins
There is this awareness of this reality that is just outside my closed eyes
Somehow tries to draw me back to the memories of all truth and lies
Just allow things to be, not to succumb to the voices within my own mind
To be aware of my breathing, accepting the nothingness of some kind
This single moment is all we have, this concept somehow eludes my grasp
In this subconscious twilight, connected to the universal realm so vast
The solemn entities that swirl within my mind as I stay still and just be
My body seems to calm, like floating in a boat on a solemn still open sea
I am just a mere student in this realm, lost in calmness and tranquillity
Hoping that one day the stillness shall find me within my own humanity
Many acts can be a learning process, dawning, as if we are born anew
Thoughts transcend, lost in the void between reality and the askew
In this realm, tranquility starts and confusion no longer has control
Letting go of all the solitary pain and suffering that has taken their toll
