Strawberries

Strawberries bleeding onto my thumb, The blood pulses, my heart is numb. The juice that trickles onto my pale lips, So sweet; but failing, my heart soon slips Into the same stupor of silent mourning As the strawberries, ripe and rotting.

Emotions expressed in a creative way. I like the way you use the strawberry for the image you express (ripe and rotting). Grief is felt in those lines. Great poem!

A deep one. I like this kind of short poem that says so much in so few lines. Congrats on your win but should be much higher on the list.

Thank you very much Juli Michelle......I was so pleased you liked my silly rhyming poem!! I must say I also love strawberries.....but reading this poem more than once, it seems to be a metaphor for something very sad.....wow, this is terrific. I love it!

Juli, congratulations... ... By the way I have something to say to all who supported my ANY POEM # 19 contest. Shame on me, Shame on me! Please forgive me, for not taking the time, to CONGRATULATE and adore all the winning poems for a second or third time. I AM VERY LATE:(-- I was a little mad at the world. However, this is my winning list, I will give everyone the same love and support. I'm dropping by with a Copy Paste note from the bottom of my heart. I am sorry, it's not like me, to walk away, as if nothing. Truly, I appreciate every winning poem, and HM. LOVE LINDA
