Still Hope
Fell down in a well unknown.
Lost inside the past.
All the chances I have blown.
Disappeared so fast.
Still the sun comes up each day.
And shines a light of shame.
To fill my heart with fresh dismay.
Too tired to play the game.
The tracks still run from now and then.
Through all the hills and valley's.
And leaves the law of averages.
To total up the tally's.
Still hope is hung up high and dry.
Where dreams are not for sale.
And you can only wait for love.
With the check lost in the mail.
The air between the clouds of doubt.
Are filled with rain so heavy.
As hearts so empty in a drought.
Await the bursting levy.
We dance the dance of ever after.
Feeling like a fool.
And only hear the callous laughter.
At the golden rule.
Someday we'll leave this all behind.
And come up from that well.
And hopefully what we will find.
The secrets then will tell.
