Staying Power

Let me tell you about a man Who wasn't just passing through He arrived on scene with a plan Who planted a seed and love grew He says he knew in just one look There she was, his forever One smile, one laugh is all it took His greatest adventure, greatest endeavor He saw her for all that she was Her soul, the beauty and the pain He didn't run like everyone else does A rollercoaster, she was no plain jane Loving and warm She seemed so free But guarded and torn Life had made her to be Walls had been built around her heart Safety from those that leave Death has came for her since the start Too many times, she'd grieve Brick by brick he tore them down Proved time and time again He planned to stick around Determined her heart, he'd win Through the ups and downs He loved her just the same Unconditionally, no bounds By her side, her love he'd claim Laughs and tears, through it all He never waivered, turned an eye There he was for the long haul He held her world up, high How lucky was she, that girl To find a guy so patient and pure Who'd change her life with one twirl So resilient, determined and sure He arrived on scene with a plan Love her every minute of every hour Let me tell you about a man Who proved he had the staying power

WoW!Jessie, He sounds like an incredible man that loved her unconditionally. He loved her past her insecurities, flaws, and scars. Love doesn't back down from a challenge. Because love itsn’t just a feeling it's a choice. Is this a true story? Well done. Thanks for visiting me today. It was much appreciated:-) Alexis

I like the poem very much. "Brick by brick he tore them down," nice line.
