A very old poem, written when I was no more than 30 (31 yrs. ago). Now, i regret to  say, I  barely know him.

Stay Small Awhile Stay small awhile yet, my son. It strains your father's heart To see his simple, small boy Growing up so fast, so very fast. What's your hurry? Indulge us for a little longer, Let me bathe my spirit in your charms, The purity of your feelings, The beautiful ease of your ways; These revive me from my weariness Coming home tired from a day full of adults, Worn out from the complications we embrace. You've time enough for growing, never fear, There's time enough to adjust to the world's strange ways. There's time enough to learn all the rules and rituals And time, yes always time For love, just simple love.
