Starlight

Starlight falls from heaven Like a gentle evening rain. The moon climbs through the twilight And love begins again. Nightingales sing chorus'. Doves swoon breathlessly. Evening thrills the anxious heart With dreams of ecstasy. ….then touch my heart so it may be- still as thunder on a reckless sea. ….hear my spirit's fervent plea- light the flame that died in me. And when our night has ended With sunshine from the day, In the brilliance of the new light, Old dreams will fade away. written 2019.01.16
