Spring Is Here
Winter had been so very long and cold.
It seemed I had not seen the sun for days.
I wasn't bothered before I grew old.
I hid in my bedding without sun's rays.
Wakening to resurrection of spring,
I threw my covers and laughed with delight.
Dulcet sounds of happiness on the wing,
I opened the blind and blinked in the light.
The sunrise was coloring Eastern sky.
Lace and chiffon veil rising from the ground,
The last bit of winter saying good-bye.
There were no raindrops or snow to be found.
Daffodil fields in golden profusion,
Tell us spring is here. Its no illusion.
