The first cramp came night time in Bethlehem. Mary and Joseph had arrived in town. We best hurry Love to find us a place, to check in and then for the night bed down. Mary and Joseph had arrived in town. She is in labour at just the wrong time, to check in and then for the night bed down. God help us, is there a midwife around? Mary in labour at just the wrong time. Now in a stable, the wrong end of town. God help us, it there a midwife around? Her pains closer, I see the head has crowned. Now in a stable, the wrong end of town. Here the Messiah, a boy being born. Her pains closer, I see the head is crowned. Jesus my child, my son, thy will be done.

I would like to think that Mary did have a midwife to help her. Giving birth long ago used to be very dangerous for mother and baby. Of course she had the angels looking over her. Enjoyed your poem Jean. Congratulations on your HM! xxoo

True, Mary did have divine assistance. I never thought about that Connie. Lovely to see you here as always.

Hello Tom. That is the midwife coming out in me. It can't have been too nice for poor Mary. I had a lovely Xmas and New Year with my family, all home for 3 weeks. I hope you also had a happy time.
