Sometimes
Sometimes I wish for a king's hearty dish
That I'd eat and could just eat no more.
But, a king's hearty dish is far less than a kiss
And a meal in which love has been poured.
Sometimes I gaze and am truly amazed
At the eagles that soar in the sky,
But, often for me with a sweet melody
I'll be flying right there by there side.
Sometimes I dream of a fresh water stream
And the trout there are three pounds or more,
But, the pond down the road where thoughts often explode,
Undoubtedly holds more in store.
Sometimes I say what a beautiful day.
It'd be nice if we had more of these.
But, the next day it rains and I feel just the same,
For with each day a soul can be pleased.
Sometimes I long to stand up and be strong
For something I truly believe,
But, a strange circumstance will give me a chance,
And I find silence wiser indeed.
Sometimes I think, oh, I'm right on the brink
Of ideas to bring glory to me,
But, the glory's to him and I thank God again,
For He's given me all that I need.
