Somber and Grey
Yesterday's pain; lava red seared my soul.
Bubbling, hot blisters were taking their toll.
Today, scarlet scars won't let me forget.
I hide them in shadows; wallow in regret.
Tomorrow, old wounds will have faded away.
No red creeping through; gladly somber and grey.
Yesterday's joy; golden rays warmed my soul.
Sunshine and laughter, making me whole.
Today, the glow still emits from within.
Nostalgia, allowing the occasional grin.
Tomorrow, clouded memories drift, hiding the rays
No gold shining through; sadly somber and grey.
Somber and grey, no rainbow in the sky.
Not really sure; should I laugh, or should I cry?
