Slovakia

From joining the Union in 2004, no longer Crowns, but thorns in the Euro Zone. Dues through Asylum’s open door Quotas from Italy or Greece, over casings and from caters, to step on hope and find peace. Refugees search for compassion’s border. Not the miles or cold nights that draw cry, but new states of natural order of those with new fence and wire. Young questions, maybe one more night with hunger and a shared fire.

Rob, I thought I would roam around and read some old poems from different poets. I stumbled on this poem. I am Slovakian so I was intrigued. The 3rd stanza says it all. A wonderful write, I'm glad I read this tonight:)-luloo

Interesting, sad. You made it so very real using facts without opinion, images with words. ~Susan

Ooh, what a bleak picture. However this is the reality for many, too many. Well penned.

It's sure a sad state of affairs that so many damn countries cannot treat their citizens right, and thus forcing them to abandon their homes and flee into the unknown. This is good, Rob! I am waiting for Joe. He is stuck in a bad traffic jam on Sunday night. Must be an accident. Gonna have meat loaf when he gets here!!

A very interesting poem, Rob. I have been reading about some desperately poor drug addicts and an abused woman who live just outside of Bratislava. The 23 year old woman had bruises all over her face and looked squarely into the camera. The cameraman had gained their trust over several months, an essential thing to do in order to have meaningful photos.
