Sin City

Sin City is where I long to be. With all, it's frivolous activity. Vegas is the place to be! The wild excitement in the air I know the hot scorching sun is a bear. But still, there's excitement everywhere. Back down the alleyways. Truly lies hidden mysteries Backstreet lovers' Or even worse. Someone's taken it. And left you uncovered. But apart from the ally-ways And the pimps and drug dealers. The worn-out and left behind hopeless. Sin City is where I long to be. With all, its bright lights Vegas is the place to be. 10;30pm 5/ 27/ 2014

This is an accurate description of Las Vegas. I have never been there before, but I know this much about it because much of the world has been made known to us through the social media and the advent of technology. Not ideal though for the ascetic. Lol

VEGAS the soft underbelly you painted it well, and brought out the sorry, and almost the smell, where the pimps n the drug dealers, glide, with some only there 4 the ride, as the waves of emotion, do tell, and others held by the spell, have their cash on the, ultimate, SLIDE

I am not much of a gambler but we have enjoyed seeing the many cool buildings on the strip and down town. We also like the live shows and the shopping, not to mention the food. For us 3 or four days and we're good for another few years. We haven't experienced the seedier side but there are lots of invitations.

And, I have been there once or twice. It is the most strange place. There is a sex trade going on and also stuff for the family. I wouldn't bother to go again. Perhaps for a desert tour, however. The gambling doesn't do anything for me, and neither does the sex industry. Hey--do me a favor and check out Bernie Sanders!!!

In your own way, you manage to establish the dual nature of this place. So I just smile and applaud! Yay! You have something very special going on inside that kind and sweet head of yours! So, you have given me something to ponder.

That's where4 my mom is visiting this week. Maybe you can show here a good time. But keep her away from the areas described in this poem.

Surrendering to unforeseen. Sometimes nice, sometimes mean. A gambler knows the ups and downs. The lucky winners and the desperate clowns.

Debbie, in every city there is the bright and the dark but the wild excitement of big cities can be a lure for some , for me rocking in grandma's old rocker is where I want to be, thanks for visiting

Hi Debbie! I've heard a lot about Las Vegas (apart from Elvis's song!) where people are supposed to have the time of their life. ~ Enjoyed your poem; you tempt me to visit Sin City one day! // paul

Debbie - I have never had the pleasure of sinning in Sin City but I HAVE been to Reno several times...You have captured the bright AND the dark side of Vegas...I can feel the 'wild excitement' in your words - Tim

IT sounds like you have visited a few times at least! I really have not spent much time there except to drive through and stop at one gambling place once. My husband is a big fuddy duddy and does not like to have fun, so I doubt I can ever enjoy Vegas unless one day I can round up my sisters. And to think, it's only a 5 hour drive away!! (maybe six) I liked seeing this poem tonight
