Short Is the New Sexy

His mother once said I am short Too short for my tall son I took it as a compliment Embracing ‘short’ for all fun World perceives beauty in a way My perceptions vary There were times I was bogged down By concepts of beauty —so scary I look up and see the world Looking down upon me As if everything up high Is slightly higher just for me Looking through my little eyes They all look elevated For the love of all tall men An imaginary world I created A world where I be tall Without the lift of pencil heels And walk a walk to remember Not facing societal ordeals But then I know this is real That I am a petite babe And what’s the harm in being one I still am in a very good shape Sometimes I’m a lil’ adorable darlin’ Sometimes I wear the height of pride I change as changes seasons Takin’ the best of both worlds on a ride
