Secrets sail on the whirling winds, along with the dark and driven clouds. Carried aloft with litter and leaves are invisible, partly submerged longings: to hitch a ride on the primal rawness, to abandon all things set and tethered, to project oneself toward the unknown, while thriving through the natural chaos.

A good read with interesting construction. Two quatrains separated by a colon: actually two sentences meditating on secrets.

I loved both poems. It makes feel like a person on the move and not sure where I am going. But when I get there I'll be fine. Thank you for the mood.

Thanks, Marilyn, for appreciating my poems. If you want to feel like a person on the move, you might like my latest book--Stardust, Shadows, and Secrets. Odd that a line from an old Country song leaps into my mind as I read these poems. A Slim Whitman song. " Drifting along with the tumbling tumbleweed". I just enjoyed, what I saw as, your portrayal of "drifting on the breeze though life's troubles. I must look up the lyrics now as it's a lovely song. God Bless. D.

To be as free as the wind and avoid a life that is becoming stoic would be wonderful... I loved this poem, Carol. I was just swept away by these expressive lines. Beautifully done!... Welcome to Poetry Soup. I am looking forward to reading more of your work!

Thank you, Kelly. I spent a few hours this morning writing this poem during the storm, hoping it would speak to someone. I'm glad it did. Looking forward to reading your poems, also.
