Safe In My Memories

I sang with you in depths of dreams. Our song took flight on rosy beams of dawn and over clouds it flew. In depths of dreams, I sang with you. I called for you as dark clouds brewed. In memories, my strength renewed. I drew you near and light shined through. As dark clouds brewed, I called for you. Long, long ago, you sheltered me with music, love and carefree glee. A happy girl in your shadow, you sheltered me long, long ago. Written 6/2/20 Contest - Swap Quatrain Contest Sponsor - Emile Pinet

This is lovely, smoothly written, with a peaceful and grateful vibe. I see from your comments that you wrote it thinking of your father, and in that vein, I can relate. Well done Rhonda, and congrats on your high placement ~ John

Rhonda, my sincere gratitude for sharing about your dad. My dad would have turned 100 last week on July 3rd. We called him the firecracker dad. Many happy memories of summertime with my dad. I am sorry for your loss, but happy for the gain we've both known of having wonderful dads. Hugs ~ John

Thanks for another wonderful visit, John. I think about my dad everyday, but I always miss him more in the summer. Summer was his favorite season, his birthday is in August, and he died on the first day of summer. Blessings, Rhonda xx

Thank you, Gershon. I wrote this one for my dad. He passed away on June 21, 2002. I miss him everyday, but the anniversary of his death is always a sad day especially when it lands on Father's Day. Blessings, Rhonda xx
