Roots
I have a journey; a long, long journey.
There's no need for a taxi or a steam boat;
I'm traveling deep within my skin,
to search for the cradle of my heart, lungs,
and bones. Whispers of my ancestors call
me from deep within my soul -
they access my body and mind with such ease,
as though they have codes to my being.
I'm like a drop of the Nile River,
trying to return to it's source,
from the Atlantic Ocean.
Yes, I'm a biological map of my forefathers'
travels, adventures, and experiences in different
geographies, with different people;
those different people are part of me now -
I'm a book of it's own history,
which wants to open and read itself,
from the beginning to the end......
