Rock Me

Rock me in your wild, wondrous ways beneath the push and pull of sails within the ebb and flow of the sea through undulating swells and spray as waves hammer the heeling hull until the wayward wind dies away. 6/9/2023

Well done Laura. In the short six lines I could feel the boat and the wind. I use to sail and your poem brought back good memories.

I've read several poems today at The Soup that refer to the sea and all have been great reads. This is no exception, Laura. Another great read and one that has an almost 3D feel to it. I've not articulated well what I mean but suffice to say I can feel the 'movement' in the poem. It's a very descriptive piece. Cheers - Gary

Thanks, Gary, for your kind comments on my poem! We own a small sailboat and I was inside the hull resting and felt the inspiration while it was rocking back and forth! :)
