Robert Frost
Past the valleys strewn with apple trees-
And spirited places where he derived his passion
To the hardships and things forgotten-
He clutched his thoughts in the quiet of candlelight
Through the woven fabrics of his mind-
And the boundless journeys he strove
We gained his poetic wishes in perspective
Now I drain my thoughts in deliberate diligence
Hoping to bring him approval
Though I know he no longer resides-
I feel him in the cracked filled walls of yesterday
I am but a humbled poet -
Waning in the lost wishes of a master
I will walk with Robert Frost deep in my soul-
Breathing the pages of him and his earnest intellect
Rehearsing the dreams and agony of an America’s past-
Poetic paladin
