Rhyming Poetry Is For Children

I am so fed up with the school of rhyme and those that do it ALL THE flipping TIME It how we are taught as little pups it's not a genre befitting grow ups It's okay to throw a rhyme in here and there but Jesus Christ, really, EVERYWHERE? If I start to read a pieces that rhymes every other frigging line it makes me want to yank out all my hair so I close the page and go else where if you think that rhyming is where it's at then your sentiments are falling flat Let the children have their style Use it sparingly; once in a while I wrote this poem to prove I can... write just like neanderthal man If variety is the spice of life then tell me: why is rhyming so rife?

You have produced a competent rhymed piece and proven, indeed, that you can do it. I occasionally like to write rhymed poems, but usually stick to free verse or other (experimental) types....I enjoyed your verse.

every poet has a style; yet to you, a rhyme does rile. with your words, i disagree; i guess you'll read no poems by me!

Hard to tell if this is tongue in cheak or your real opinion, as a poem your flow is a bit dodgy in several place, but a nice effort. It'll certainly get people talking, for my mind I like rhymes it's one of those constraints which makes the creative process more interesting, but I can quite understand getting bored of them. TTFN

I think rhyme belongs in music and as a spring board for all types of poetry. It's the: blah blah blah blah blah blah, blah hot blah blah blah blah blah blah, blah not I don't like. This pieces was written humorously as it doesn't really bother me, as I don't read those types of poems. thanks for taking time to comment, any feedback is good feedback in my book. cc x
