Reverie of Wintertime
In winter’s peaceful reverie, enchanting snowfall reigns
with dizzy, wistful flurries that flow so lightly down
they settle softly o’er the treetops and the winding lanes
while children sled around and distant church bells sound
across the wavy hillsides and blanketed white ground.
And in the air, aromas waft of lightly roasted chestnuts
distinctly mixed with purest scents of cinnamon and spice
it lingers around chimneys, settles into evening’s hush
enticing all to gather into home and hearth’s fire light
to celebrate with Christmas songs and jubilant delight.
