Reflections From An Old Soul
Gentle winds embrace my old wrinkled skin
as I slowly sink into the sea sand
I will watch the flight of seabirds again
beyond the gray contours of sea and land
soft silhouettes float as wings claim their space
in a welcomed wondrous beautiful view
I'll seek the edge of my eyes to embrace
and find like the birds I'm just passing through
this cherished moment of what will become
I wonder about my own life's decree
when I hear music from the tide's soft strum
like the souls who've stood here long before me
as beautiful colors float in my mind
I hope the next old soul reflects in kind
