A saffron sun colors chiffon
ribbons entangled within clouds.
And purple lilacs brush the air,
painting delicious aromas.
Orange zests the rim of the earth
as charcoal skies unveil shy stars.
And while twilight morphs into dusk,
darkness descends, devouring day.
Cotton candy pink shrouds the sun
within a dim magenta glow.
And a rising moon's golden hue
gilds alabaster clouds below.
Dusk dons a cloak of tattered black;
Night summons the screech of an owl.
And soon, reality slumbers,
dreaming in muted shades of blue.
Far horizons of ebony,
ink shrubs, and trees in silhouette.
And Venus summons tomorrow,
anticipating today's death.
