As writers we all seek true satisfaction To know our words are more than just a passing distraction To reach this elusive goal we must set a few things aside Like our ego, our self focus and our false sense of pride To write is to express feelings that would otherwise be lost But to read others works is to learn, be it an unknown or a Robert Frost So write-on by all means but take the time to also read and take note For other writers are also unsuspecting teachers so don't miss the boat
