I cried to spy you laugh to see your ballroom choreograph shameless pleasure with a smile my heart breaking all the while a week ago we split and no way I am over it tear falls daily catch me up every time a memory hits abrupt your joy laughs at my pain and those sneers bring such distain as though we never were a we all torment surrounds the lesser me from the ooze I will connect as much of me as I recollect (raw) [a re-post circa 1991)

Yes, my friend love can often bring on the deepest of pains. I know as it hit me several times in my youth. Such agonizing, heartfelt pain. I did however live through it and learned. This is a very fine poem hit me hard as I recollect those old wounds myself. Great poem and a new fav for me.

You certainly write of painful memories. The first stanza had me picturing a jilted bloke spying on his ex at her wedding and having that first dance. hugs jan xx
