Promises Not Kept

Promises Not Kept by Chuck Keys As leaves flow in the breeze, Change. Peanut butter needs jelly. Water can taste dry - alone effortlessly. Color is a difference. Superficially superficial. A little boy lives without ... - Fearful. Tearful. Cold without a roof. My mommy isn't home, Job searching in disguise. No. Heatless And brrr, cold smiles ... anger heartache. Daddy, what daddy? TV was stolen, again. Willy got cut up, bad. Spend money on me, not war, Nothing changed since Martin Why? I'm hungry. Oneness. © Charles H Keys, 2010. All Rights Reserved

Chuck, this is so heartwrenching. "Nothing changed since Martin" -- what a powerful line, but even more compelling is the child's plea to have money spent on him, not war. It's a sad state of affairs, my friend. I missed this earlier when I was moving to NJ, but am so glad to have found it now! Love, Carolyn

Everything seems to be broken. Yet, people think by putting a band aid to it will make it alright... a maddening state we're in..I love your imagery, Chuck!
