Pond is a poem from my book Melodious Verse.

Pond is a free verse nonastich poem, nine lines, with mixed end rhyme and meter written in 75 words. Centered for aesthetic symmetry.

Pond I sit by a pond near a river. The moon glistening like a river of light. The crickets call to the lovers. Walking beneath the stars in the night. I hear an owl calling to who I do not know. I see a fire fly flying with a blue green glow. I build a small fire and play a happy tune. As I sit there and I listen. To the call of a single loon. By Josehf Lloyd Murchison
