Grounded by the gravity of our earth Our body and spirit are often pulled In opposite opposing directions in Contention between visceral emotions And logical, intellectual, left brain thought. Too much of one may eviscerate the other. A combination of both are needed to retain Balance and a sense of inner sanctuary. Poetry has the sensibilities to stir our Emotions, to speak to body and spirit, Melding our terrestrial selves with the divine. © Connie Marcum Wong

Hello Connie. I turned to this entry at random. This entry must be read slowly to savor the voice and tone. I found this entry original and poetry written and expressed in the traditional sense and fashion. Honestly. Well done completely. It was an honor turning to your page this morning. Have a wonderful day.

Thanks a lot Andrea. I finally have some time to work on Poetry. Congrats on your win at PFT for POTW. I am posting my moon poem. I tried taking a photo of the largest moon, but I am not sure how well it turned out. I have been so busy working. I will try to catch up tomorrow. Hugs, Connie

My husband is more left brained and I am more right brained which helps to balance out our relationship and it keeps life very interesting. Thank you for your visit and nice comment Eileen. Have a fun Halloween.; )

That sounds like fun Andrea. Will you have your grandkids over or are the popcorn balls for your students? Carissa is going with her mommy this year to trick-or-treat. She was with us last year and I will miss her. I tried to do a Halloween contest but somehow I keep doing something wrong and it won't post? Have a great Halloween! ; )

Wow, Connie, you have come up with an amazing description of the way we receive our poetic inspiration. I guess we do need the logical mind to balance out the emotional side, but I've never heard it explained so well. Bravo! (Whenever a hurricane is headed toward Hawaii I always think of you!)

I think about you often Carolyn, it is just that time slips away so quickly and I only get about 10% of what I want to get done as age creeps up. It's so nice to hear from you and I hope you're feeling well? I appreciate your nice comment on my poem. Thank you very much. Blessings, Connie ; )

Boy - you packed a lot of spiritual truth into creative brevity! Surely, you must have some Libra in your chart to speak so authentically and poetically about combining, harmonizing, and reaching perfection in the blend of opposing brain and heart offerings. I must FAV this, as a Libra and a Poet, I am in love with this. Took 3 tests in my life re: use of L vs R brain. I came out 50/50 all three times. What a Libra, huh? Have you taken such a test? 7 7 7 7 7 7

Beautifully said, Connie; our true selves are perfect, for our essence is that of the Divine. One need only let go of the lesser to be effortlessly filled to overflowing abundance.

Connie I couldn't agree with you more. I have just recently taken a leap of faith and decided to write poetry. Actually a couple of poems. I was afraid I wouldn't measure up to the poets here however, everyone has been so wonderful and supportive. Writing has been an emotional cleansing. Loved this piece :) A fav.
