pillars of creation obscured by darkness an evolution of mass stellar nurseries hydrogen helium gas no need for slap on the ass The pillars look like arches and spires rising out of a bleak landscape, but are filled with semi- transparent gas and dust, and ever changing, albeit imperceptibly so. This is a region of our galaxy where young stars are forming or have barely burst forth from their dusty cocoons as they continue to switch on and become fully fledged stars, some will be just like our own sun.

Ha, I definitely won’t make the 8th of April one in the US, but will certainly try make the next one in Europe in 2 years time, northern Spain is probably the best place to see it from, cheers David

"A Star Is Born" I did some research on the cold gas and dust, they glow and the name is based on a phrase used by Charles Spurgeon’s "The Condescension of Christ" I know, but appropriate for Easter! Deep Sky: Webb Telescope, cosmic landscapes that leave you filled with awe galaxies older, further and fainter than humankind had ever seen before, astonishing! Cool Tanka, David I'm learning Science!

I believe only two of the Ninevah towns will experience totality, the other 5 a partial eclipse, still it’s pretty impressive, are you going to head into its path yourself, must be very tempting being so near in California

You sure are Anaya, and right on the money here, To think they were first spotted over one hundred years ago, but not in the clarity seen above, I really wanted to head to Dallas for the eclipse, unfortunately it didn’t work out for me, but I will definitely try get one in in my lifetime, thanks so much for sharing all the information, cheers David

Carl Sagan said we are all star stuff. How you related a baby's start of life with a slap on the ass, is a clever analogy. Robert

Ha yeah! I’m not sure they use that method anymore in the modern world, but hey in a relative universe, it would take an almighty slap to start up a star hmm! Yes all kind of possibilities abound, Carl is right, we are all made of star dust, cheers David

I feel ridiculous! I didn't even realise new stars formed. In my head stars were ending in quiet or amazing ways and we saw just an echo of that existence. You've opened up a new dimension for me David :)

Ha seeing is believing Dilly, yes new stars continue to form, but mostly in certain nebulous areas of galaxies, were the gases and dust collapse under their mutual gravity til fusion is triggered and a star is born, there is perhaps thousands of new stars forming in the photo above, food for thought isn’t it! Cheers David

Hello David,I liked how your poem delves into the cosmic ballet of creation with eloquence. The imagery of stellar nurseries and evolving mass creating a scene of the pillars of creation. I loved that it’s a captivating glimpse into the ever-changing beauty of our universe. - Blessings, Daniel

Thank you Daniel, and only seen through the human condition by using our minds and technology, makes me ponder the effect of the human consciousness on the universe around us, do we bring these phenomena into existence by observing them, possibly not! but we certainly give them meaning, cheers David
