Phases of the Moon

The scent of Eagles Shortly after hate-filled Cantations Drives you vertically insane Nearly touching utopia Engulfed in flames Your editor suggested options Including uncovering cemetery Ashtrays enrobed in trace-water Marble Unforgiving Even joyful I concede Your mouth dripping fresh-picked Strawberries While antediluvian rainbows March towards certain death Or nirvana You Said As phases of the Moon Dictate 6/20/15 © james marshall goff

For sure, go with the flow and seasons. Phases of The Moon, how they affect all nature, both physical and phyche--one wonders, on deeper analysis, was it "The Chicken or the Egg?"--surely God, were it not for our freewill, would do it a bit more refined from the get-go. You are a great poet, Jimbo!

You are sharp Deb, yes...I enjoy this style, the fractured leaps help express the half-thoughts of emotion that course our minds continually....furthering the truth I seek

James, I must say that I read this fascinating poem twice and it got deeper than my first read. How profound is that? Great poem, Ken

Impeccable timing as the Summer Solstice approached, moon waning. It's forces undeniably affecting the Universe, the tides, the hospital wards. Yet not one with conviction. Sadly, money still makes the World go round. "Ashtrays enrobed in trace-water marble", Wow, what a metaphor depicting a place my remains shalt not ever remain! You got skills Jimbo :), jill

Hi James! Had to read this intriguing poem a few times, not wanting to miss out on your message! I say that while the moon dictates, we are still left free to make our own judgment and take unforced decisions. // All the best. // paul
