A lovely poem, Michelle. What an interesting goddess. I don't know much about Greek and Roman gods and goddesses, but now I would like to read about Persephone. I love your last two lines. They're very poignant. Congratulations!

Michelle, this is stunning, written as a prayer from Persephone trapped in darkness six months of the year! "Permit a corner where prayers are heard in hell," "a small hope dwells." Poignant lines. This is a fav for me. Congratulations on your win! Here's to the blessings of small prayers my friend.

Back to offer my congratulations, though I would have voted for a higher placement. Just my bias, I suppose. Perhaps now that the contest is over you can change the title to what you originally wanted.

This is an excellent entry, Michelle - I predict a high placement in the contest. I love how you wrote it as words coming from her mouth; that really sets this apart. It reads like a line from a classic play. And you make this form seem easy.. Well done, ArtSib ~ John

Thank you John, I was inspired by ESVM's poem 'Prayer to Persephone' - I am glad you understood the context, at first I was going to title it 'Persephone's Plea' but it could only have a one word title - and I did get a placement :)

I think you chose a unique and very nice approach to how you did this form. Very nicely done.
