Afternoon slips into early evening Cafes fill Daylight hides in soft shadows Outdoor tables wait Couples slip into seats, order Sitting, watching people Chatter fills the air Supper comes and goes Patrons slip away into the coming night Arm in arm, head resting upon welcome shoulder Paris seems to smile at night in the spring After chocolate mousse desserts
