Parable 14: the Sower
A sower went out his seed to sow.
Some of it fell on the path and so
exposed on the ground
by birds it was found.
Other seed over the rocks did blow
so without much soil when the sun arose
growth to the scorching heat was exposed
and so withered away.
Yet more seed did stray
among thorns where its growth was foreclosed.
But for seed that fell in soil that was good
it thrived and grew to yield grain that would
increase a hundred fold.
As when the word is told
much will be lost but some understood.
Wherever you broadcast the Word
some may listen but think it absurd.
While some will neglect it
and others forget it,
some with joy will share what they've heard.
