It may be better if we forget each other for now ~ tell me how if we walk away where do we go ~ to a place neither of us know don't turn and look when we say goodbye ~ I don't want you to see me cry then I shall have to pray for rain ~ because my face will be showing pain four years together and this is how it ends ~ as nothing more than friends

Your poem created sadness in my heart for you, Lin. Ending a marital relationship is just plain hard and gut wrenching...tears a person's world and soul upside down for a while. I sense you've recovered and have happily moved on...not an easy task but admirable nonetheless . Have a splendid evening, Sara

It was the depth of sadness for me for several years, Sara, but we've both moved on and share a bond that has survived through it all.

Always good to end on friendly terms Lin, of course it’s not an ideal situation, and your poem expresses the heartbreak quite eloquently, all in rhyming monoku form too, impressive! Cheers David

We didn't end on friendly terms, but he reached out with apologies years later. Forgiveness is an emotional healer. Thanks, David.

An emotional write Lin, it just wasn't meant to be, the only consolation is you remained on friendly terms. Tom

Historically true, Deb. All's well that ends well, and we're friends. Thanks for the read and comments.
