I have been enjoying looking at the flowers pictures from Demetrios Trifiatis garden -- they are outstanding and bring me great joy.

Now regarding this poem, I don’t believe we need another poem about Orchids but my heart is moved every time I linger and gape at their beauty.  So, here is my little contribution into the sea of Orchid poems.

As always -- Love Generously!!

David

Orchid – Calling gently to my heart Such beauty - delicate, exotic, graceful Caressing my spirit With a gentle colorful peace Scenting the air – a sweet love breeze A beacon of hope . . . of love When sadness blankets my soul When nights are long, cold and dark When days are filled with a misty grey fog This flower standing resolute Whispers the eternal promise Its beauty a glimpse into the eternal realm – creator God A divine creation – a precious love-gift Of a peace that lights up the sky As my tears wash forth My heart-pain is transformed into wisdom My suffering into strength My crippling fear into courage One more time my glaze lingers Bruised and battered, I breathe in . . . out There! I have move past the pain To embrace love and forgiveness To be strong and alive! Orchid Calling gently to my heart Such beauty - delicate, exotic, graceful Love Generously ---- David Meade 10/27/2015

David, I am also a lover of orchids - I never get enough:-)! There is such a beauty blooming on my office window and she sings her own song! This piece is such a lovely personification of the orchid that creatively exults the wonder of the flower in all its glory! A-7 for sure! Pandita

A rare beauty, both the orchid and this poem. The love comparison fits so well and was executed in style.... My fav line among the many-- "Whispers the eternal promise "

I wish I was a bee right about now. I love and inhale the imagery, to love and forgive, such beauty exfoliates once the pain becomes the past. Love the way you lift the misty grey fog... LINDA

"...and he has broken his silence..." Worth all the wait, David. Again, this write shows your sensitivity. Loved the line "Its beauty a glimpse into the eternal realm – creator God". Caught my breath with the imagery and the image of a man so in love with God that he is brought to tears by the sheer beauty of a flower. 7 and fav. hugs!

I'm overjoyed to see your lovely piece, David. You've been away far too long. I am also blessed by the pics that Demetrios posts. Each a breath of fresh air. I particularly am fond of Orchids as it's one of my nick names...Desert Orchid. Thanks for posting a lovely poem about this flower.

clever to use the word Orchid because it may sound as a name of the woman but then in some lines you mentioned something about a flowers beauty and all.. really clever!!! ~Olive Eloisa
