"I choose optimism over fatalism because I'm too determined to be conquered." ~ by poet I would embrace life with optimism rather than feel resigned to dark despair I prefer to see the world through a prism filled with colorful beauty everywhere Optimistic people don't mope and brood In negativity they don't wallow "This too shall come to pass," their attitude when worry is a hard pill to swallow It's not rose colored glasses that they wear They are not naive or ambivalent And don't for a moment think they don't care Optimism prevents cause to lament Hope gives optimists reason to cheer It's happiness and health we should revere

JD! How wonderful to see you. I mentioned you in a comment earlier today on a poem that had internal rhyme. You are missed. Thanks for reading me.

Hi Jay. Thanks, and have no fear of writing Sonnets. If you can rhyme and count syllables... you can create a Sonnet.

And don’t for a moment think they don’t care! what a brilliant line Lin, I always like to ponder the bigger existential picture and for some abstract reason I see it as positive, even though I’m firmly a realist, thin lines divide isms, very thin indeed, brilliant work, cheers David

Thanks a bunch, David for the comments and also for letting me know that you especially liked a certain line. I often think about little things that really have no bearing on much of anything. Those little streams of inquiry that run through my mind. I dare not dam them for fear I'll be flooded with sanity. You are a realist. I've witnessed it in many of your writes and comments. Isms are interesting food for contemplation.

Thanks a lot, Jan. I'd rather live with a good outlook instead of one of gloom. LOL at your optimism over it being placed. Thanks, chick.

Dear Lin, indeed, I do agree with you, and the stirring poetic expression of your optimistic verse is also reason to cheer! I admire your potent pen's lustrous ink and adore the depth, breadth and grit of your powerful poet's quote. "Optimism": a great word chosen for Constance's "O" words contest and a superb piece celebrating it! I see this piece high on her win list, my friend. Warmest wishes to you always.. ~Susan

Hi Susan, and thanks ever so much for your wonderfully supportive comments! Optimism was not my first choice, but someone had just posted an entry using that word. lol C'est la vie. I think it worked out and your fine compliments attest to that. Thanks so much for your well wishes.
