Opportunities For Christmas Joy

It's a time to pack away your sad face, And slow down the race, To a walking pace. It's time to remember the good life, Put away your knife, And do something nice. It's time to play your part, By showing you have a heart, So, others won't depart. It's time to hold off on the advice, And with your cooking entice, All but the mice. It's time to be a good elf, Not think of yourself, And come down off the shelf. It's time to spread some joy around your neighborhood, Even with the local hood, It could do you both some good.

Glad you like it Becca. I was fortunate to be given the Gift of finding so much joy in Christmas. I did the cooking this Christmas which I enjoyed. Everything turned out perfect. Hugs Back David in NZ

Indeedy, David, we should all step up to the plate at this time of year. Merry Christmas!

Great advice, David! For me, it seems I have to "get cracking" without the youthful vim and verve I used to have. LOL

Our children are the load carriers in our house over Christmas. My eldest daughter is chief organiser. My only duty is to make the Pavlova. Not sure anything could dampen my Christmas Ego. I revert to being an excited little boy. Love the feel, the smell, the joy as well as the abundance of chocolate, Irish cream or similar, and friends and Christmas music. I get a kick out of finding right gifts for people without breaking bank. Hope you get to relax and enjoy and relive your best Christmas ever. I will be thinking of all my friends on the soup over the holidays. Glad you like my poem. Feel free to spread it's message around. Fondest regards David in NZ
