One Thing Remains

Life's been good Sometimes sublime I've never needed more Every day's a rhyme I have lots of friends Yes, money and fame Escaped life's sorrows No regrets or shame I've cared for orphans And assisted the blind Taught eager students Stretched theirs minds Traveled all the world Wrote a few lovely songs Fought abject poverty Many evils and wrongs There's lots of things I've been blessed to do But one thing remains And that's loving you ~Lyric Man Note: This is a short story about a successful songwriter who is reflecting on his blessed and productive life. In a sense he has it all or almost all. Only one thing alludes him.. and that's what he longs for most.. to love the girl of his dreams.

I feel your notes distract me and change the focus of what I read into your poems, and now I am lost for words - my initial thought was you have lived and now it is time to focus on the person in your arms - yet, your note implies she is not even there. Quite the conundrum.
