Autumn, Autumn Forest, Trees, Deciduous Trees

OCTOBER SUN The October Sun shone brightly In a sky of azure blue It hung high in the heavens A beautiful sight to view But alas, it carried a message Frost is on the way It will soon appear on the pumpkins And not disappear until May But we must recall there are seasons Each with its very own plan But the October Sun is the grandest For the thirty-one days of its span It only has one rival That is the Harvest Moon Both will disappear in time And be replaced by the warmth of June 29 October 2019 For the contest sponsored by Line Gauthier

I just noticed that Line had you in second place until she noticed the line count. Greater work still my friend.

I'll learn to read the instructions for contests in the future more than once. From one Curtis to another, thanks for your support and your friendship.

I'm just guilty of not reading the instructions in their total state. This is an eye opener.

I was jigging pretty good and forgot to count the lines. An HM was a complete surprise. Sorry you missed out on getting one as well. Perhaps the age of 76 makes me a more seasoned jigger. lol love you too, bud!

Looks that way, John! Maybe in round number 10 we will both end up in the winner's circle.

I should have read the instructions a second time to ensure I complied. Thank you for the second place consideration and the HM. You are still a jewel in my book!

Thanks, Jan! Coming from a seasoned poet, that is encouraging. I never know just what to say when I start to write a poem. I just blindly jump in and put down words. Sometimes they do okay, and other times they don't.
